Isidro Medrano (2-3) won his first fight at the Chicago Golden Gloves on Friday, March 19th to advance to the semifinals in the 178-pound Senior Novice Division. Medrano throughly dominated his opponent for three rounds to secure the secure the victory.
Sam Ferguson (2-1) saw his run in the tournament come to an end on Saturday, March 20th with a loss in the semifinals of the 200-pound Senior Novice Division.
Medrano and Jon Yu will be fighting for Overtime Boxing on Thursday, March 25th . Gonzalo Sandoval will be fighting on Friday, March 26th . All three bouts will be semifinals.
